In many professional and personal interactions, a signature is the final seal of agreement or verification. LumoPages now offers a Signature Block, allowing you to collect handwritten digital signatures directly within your forms. This feature is perfect for contracts, consent forms, or delivery confirmations.
This guide will walk you through how to add and configure the Signature Block in your Lumo.
Why Use the Signature Block?
- Legal & Professional: Adds a layer of formal agreement to your digital documents and contracts.
- Accountability: Ensures that the person submitting the form takes responsibility for the information provided.
- Seamless Experience: Users can sign naturally using a mouse on a desktop or their finger/stylus on mobile devices.
- Security Data: For verification, Lumo automatically records the IP address, date, and time of the signature.
Step-by-Step: Adding a Signature Field
Configure Signature Settings: Click on the block to open the settings panel on the right. Here you can customize:
- Field Label: Enter the text that appears above the signature pad (e.g., "Please sign here" or "Your Signature").
- Optional Description: Provide additional context or instructions for the user.
- Required Field: Toggle this on to ensure the form cannot be submitted without a signature.
User Experience & Verification
When a user views your live Lumo, they will see a clean signature pad. Once they draw their signature, they have the option to clear it (via the X icon) if they wish to try again.
Beneath the signature pad, Lumo displays a brief notice informing the user that their IP address and timestamp are being collected to verify the digital signature, ensuring transparency and compliance with privacy standards.
