Ensuring you collect all the necessary information from your users is crucial for the functionality of your forms. The "Required" setting for Field Blocks is a simple yet powerful feature that ensures specific fields must be completed before a form can be submitted.
This guide provides a brief overview of how to mark fields as required.
Why Mark Fields as Required?
- Data Integrity: Guarantees that critical information (like names, contact details, or mandatory selections) is always collected.
- User Guidance: Clearly indicates to users which fields are essential for completing the form.
- Preventing Incomplete Submissions: The form cannot be submitted until all required fields are filled, preventing partial data.
How to Mark a Field as Required
The process for marking a field as required is consistent across almost all Field Blocks in LumoPages.
Locate and Check the "Required" Option: In the field's configuration panel, you'll find a checkbox or toggle labeled "Required".
- Click this checkbox to enable the "Required" status for that field.
Users can see a visual indicator (asterisk *) when selected on styling the Lumo, next to required fields when filling out your Lumo. If they attempt to submit the form without filling a required field, they will receive an error message prompting them to complete it.
By strategically marking fields as required, you can ensure the quality and completeness of the data you collect, making your Lumos even more effective for your needs.
