The Project Adoption feature gives Lumo users the ability to share their projects with others, allowing them to create a duplicate copy for their own use. This is different from collaboration, as the new user receives a completely separate project.

How to Enable Project Adoption

To enable Project Adoption for your project, navigate to the Project Settings. From there, you'll see a new section called "Project Adoption" with the following options:

  • Disallow Adopt: This is the default setting. It means no other users can adopt your project.
  • Allow Adopt Public: This allows any other Lumo user to create a copy of your project.
  • Allow Adopt with Password: This allows other users to adopt your project, but only after entering a password you set. The password is encrypted and cannot be recovered, so be sure to save it somewhere safe. You can, however, update it at any time.

What Gets Copied

When another user adopts your project, a new, independent project is created in their account. This new project will contain all the design and content elements of your original Lumo, including:

  • All stages and their names.
  • All content blocks (Text, Image, Video, Button).
  • All field blocks (Text, Long Text, Rating, etc.).
  • All design settings, including colors, fonts, and layouts.
Important

The project adoption process does not transfer any user response data, nor does it copy any response-related settings, such as email notifications or webhook configurations. The new user will need to configure these settings themselves if they wish to collect responses.

Once a project is enabled for adoption, a new line will appear at the top of the project's page with a link to an "ADOPT" page. This page guides the user through the process of creating a new copy.
